Organising an Event in Paris to Meet Your B2B Clients
Why an event in Paris?
Paris is home to a large share of France's headquarters, decision-makers and business media. A well-designed event lets you meet clients, prospects and sometimes journalists in a single morning — people it would take months to see one by one.
Choosing the right format
- Themed breakfast briefing: 8:30–10:00, ideal for busy executives. One speaker, one topic, discussion.
- Round table: 3–4 experts (including a client) debate an issue in your sector. Excellent for credibility.
- Client dinner or evening: more relaxed, suited to strengthening key accounts.
- Workshop or demo: for a product that needs to be seen and tried.
In France, content comes first: a purely sales-driven event draws few people. Offer a real topic that is useful to your guests.
Venue and timing
Choose a central, easy-to-reach venue (8th, 9th or 2nd arrondissement, or near a major station). Avoid school holidays, the May bank-holiday bridges and August. September–November and January–June work best. Allow 6–8 weeks between the first invitations and the event.
Invitations that work
- An invitation in French, personalised, with a clear agenda
- A phone or message reminder a few days beforehand
- A short, qualified list beats a mass mailing
Bringing in the press
An event can become a media opportunity: an announcement, a study presented first, an executive keynote. Invite a few targeted journalists and prepare a press kit and one-to-one interviews.
Follow-up, the most neglected step
Within 48 hours: thank-you note, presentation slides, an offer to meet. Then reuse the content: blog article, LinkedIn post, photos, quotes.
How we help
Sophie Candau Communication helps you design the topic and format, write invitations and content in French, engage the press and make the most of the event afterwards.
